Umbrella concept is tree as metaphor for life. On this design tree rings, and topo map of rivers in the area makeup this composition.  Conceptually, the interweaving created by combining actual rivers that exist on the two University campuses – located in reallife across the state of Michigan from one another, points to the collaborative spirit of this Medical teaching facility.
